Students of the Faculty of Engineering – Branch 1 made a field visit to Coral
The Department of Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering – Branch 1 organized a field visit to Coral. The visit was attended by a group of students accompanied by Dr. George Youssef, Head of the Petrochemical Engineering Department, and Dr. Marie-Nour Kaidouh.
The visit began with an introductory presentation delivered by Ms. Cozette Seif, who provided an overview of Coral’s mission, vision, and role within the energy sector. Students also participated in a safety awareness session conducted by Ms. Farah Qousan, Fire Protection and Emergency Response Engineer.
Students were then guided through various operational units of the company, including laboratories, storage tanks, pipeline networks, pumping systems, fire protection systems, and monitoring and control facilities.
Throughout the visit, students gained valuable technical insights into ship unloading operations, storage tank characteristics, operational procedures, and safety management standards. The experience provided them with a deeper understanding of industrial processes and the practical applications of chemical and petrochemical engineering principles in the energy sector.
