Scientific qualifications

  • Certificate of Excellence in theatre direction from the Russian Institute of Dramatic Art (GITIS) in Moscow, 1989.
  • PhD in theatre direction from GITIS, 1988.
  • Master's degree in theatre direction from GITIS, 1984.

Professional career

  • Teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture (FFAA) of the 91Ƭ, in 1991.
  • Participated in the modification and updating of the curricula of the FFAA and the institutes acting in the Arab world.
  • Director of theses and dissertations at the 91Ƭ and the University of the Holy Spirit - Kaslik.
  • Worked in the laboratory of the international scenographers Daniel Leder and Michael Frankl, between 1980 and 1984.
  • Director and professor of directing and actor training at GITIS, between 1984 and 1990.
  • Worked at the Ivan Franko Drama Theatre in Kiev and with the international director Georgy Tovstonogov in Leningrad, between 1983 and 1984.
  • Author and director of numerous radio, theatre, film and television productions.
  • Founder and president of the Artistic and Cultural Association "Al Masrah Al Akhar".
  • Founder and director of laboratories and workshops and teacher of directing, scenography, acting and playwriting in Lebanon and in the world.
  • Author of several scientific research and articles published and translated in foreign languages, as well as a collection of short stories and plays.
  • His works have constituted a research material for many academic studies and scientific articles presented by researchers in various fields of theatre arts.
  • Winner of Arab and international awards and certificates of appreciation, including the medal of the great international poet Alexander Pushkin, in 1999.
