The DSST is accepting applications for joint PhD programs for the academic year 2026–2027

The Doctoral School of Science & Technology announces that it is now accepting applications for the joint doctoral program “exclusively” for the academic year 2026–2027, from 1 June 2026 until 3 September 2026. Applications should be submitted to the Deanship in the Rafik Hariri University Campus – Hadath.

Conditions for Admission to a PhD Dissertation

General conditions for applying to a joint PhD dissertation at the Doctoral School of Science & Technology:

- The applicant should hold a research master’s degree obtained no more than three years prior to the application date (accompanied by an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education if obtained from a private or foreign university).

- The student’s ranking should be within the top half of those who passed the research master’s program. For students holding a professional master’s degree, the ranking should be first or second.

- The student should have a scholarship from an official or private institution recognized under a cooperation agreement with the 91Ƭ.

- The student should be under 35 years of age.

The dissertation topic should be supervised by researchers holding the rank of professor or HDR (one from the 91Ƭ and another from a foreign university with a cooperation agreement with the 91Ƭ).

- Full-time dedication to research work if accepted into the PhD program (without any other professional activity).

 

Documents required to apply for PhD program at the DSST:

  • for the program, available on the DSST official website: edst.ul.edu.lb or on its Facebook page ()
  • Copy of high school diploma (second section) or its equivalent.
  • Copy of bachelor's degree transcript.
  • Copy of bachelor's degree completion certificate.
  • Copy of research master’s degree (M1+M2) transcript
  • Copy of research master’s degree completion certificate, including the rank
  • Copy of equivalency certificate (only if issued by an institution outside the 91Ƭ).
  • Copy of Master’s thesis.
  • Complete curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Statement of funding for the preparation of the dissertation (from a source recognized under a cooperation agreement with the 91Ƭ).
  • Letter of acceptance from the foreign university or copy of joint supervision agreement
  • , available on the DSST official website or Facebook page.
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Letter of motivation from the candidate addressed to the committee
  • Copy of the candidate’s ID.
